While I have photographed several maternity sessions in Las Vegas this shoot is a perfect example of how a client can make their photoshoot unique and fashionable.
Some quick tips:
a. Choose a outfits you love.
b. Plan plan plan. Consults give clients and the photographer the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively before the shoot. The better prepared the easier the session goes.
c. Pay attention to details. Hair, nails, make-up ect. When we feel good we look good.
Mercedes and I planned two main ideas for her session . One being something sexy and edgy and two a milk bath with the theme color of red. Those ideas formulated over a couple of weeks and we not only found the perfect location to meet her needs but also had great communication on the style.
There is a little baby girl due to arrive later this month. I’m extremely excited to meet her and see what momma and I come up with together for her first newborn photography session.
Every photographer has a philosophy on editing. Editing is an art form therefor there is no right or wrong way to edit a photograph. Rest assured though professional photographers in Las Vegas and worldwide have strong opinions on what to edit, when and why. There is a lot of power in editing. With technology and programs being more advanced than ever before the art of photo manipulation has taken a life of its own. My thoughts on the subject are this, I am a photographer, not a graphic artist. I capture energies how I see them and try to perfect in camera as much as possible. When I edit, it is with clear intention and is to enhance an image. Alteration is at a minimum at least that’s the hope. If a client sees an image and can’t tell it’s edited I consider that mastery.
So what do I edit? A lot of people think of editing as a thinning tool, take a few pounds off here and there, it is the running joke about photoshop. The majority of what I do when I edit is color correction and taking away distractions from the subject. The below image, for instance, is a perfect example. It’s a great capture and this client is virtually flawless, however, the image on the right allows the viewer to focus on just the subject. Being in love with this staircase this image and angle where captured deliberately knowing that I could take out the distractions in the post. When it comes to editing it’s not less that is more but choosing what one should edit and being thoughtful about that choice.
What can I say Stephanie and I are cut out of the same mold omg we love our dogs. Stephanie has such a strong connection with her pup Zoey that I asked her to be featured in the Lucinda Flint Photography about video. To see the video visit the homepage of our website here: http://lucindaflintphotography.com Stephanie and Zoey’s session was a bit different from most as we had two videographers in the studio during the shoot. Stephanie a professional dancer/showgirl here in Las Vegas was not phased by a couple of cameras but there were lots of distractions for Zoey while she was being photographed. To my surprise that didn’t seem to be a problem. Zoey loves and admires her mother so much that she is very content to just be by Stephanie’s side no matter what is happening around her. Zoey also known as Zoeybowwow has her own Instagram page and has a great since of humor. Stephanie is a down to earth gal that is authentic and original. Stephanie and Zoey we look forward to seeing you again!
CONTEMPORARY PORTRAITS OF PETS AND PEOPLE
Welcome to the wonderful world of collaboration between clients and LFP. We create amazing images together. Tears are shed, laughter is always a given, and we usually all work pretty hard and have a lot of fun. At the end of our photographic process together, tangible imagery is created that we both enjoy.
Welcome to the blog!
I very much look forward to sharing some highlights of what Lucinda Flint Photography captures. The image below is from the powder workshop LFP put on earlier this year. It’s a great example of how a portrait is work of art.
To all my clients a sincerely thank you for the love and ongoing support. Without you, LFP would not exist.
If you are interested in a portrait session and have not yet had the LFP experience call today. I’m happy to walk you through the process and look forward to meeting you. -Lucinda & Bear
