CAROLINE’S SENIOR PORTRAITS

Meet Caroline. A recent graduate of Palo Verde High School. Athlete, scholar, salsa dancer and most importantly, wonderful person. She is full of confidence and ability. An unstoppable force of kindness and intellect. I can’t wait to see what the universe has in store for her.

Rahmaan Phillip

Rahmann moved to Las Vegas when he was 8 and started playing the viola two years later. Now at age 28 Rahmann plays an equal amount of violin and is one of Las Vegas’s rapidly growing musicians. Growing in popularity Rahmann has started recording his first solo album that is due to release later this year. The album will feature some original compositions along with some pieces written by Johann Sebastian Bach.
When Rahmann came to the studio for his session he played while I photographed. The studio was alive in a way that I can’t describe. This musician not only has a lot of talent but heart that comes out when he plays. That element that makes a musician an artist. Something beyond technical skill although there is plenty of that as well. The energy of the room shifts and creates a space of peace and tranquility. A space you don’t want to leave with songs you never want to end. I’m attaching a link to a short video of Rahmann playing. If you would like to hear Rahmaan play live, visit him at Makers and Finders cafe in Downtown Summerlin. He is there every Friday from 12-2. Or contact me for more info

JORDANS SENIOR PORTRAITS

There is nothing more exciting and or terrifying then finishing college and jumping into the real world. Jordan is graduating UNLV here in Las Vegas this year.  As a life milestone the jump to full adulthood is one of the biggest leaps of unknown we ever make in life.   The amount of growth in career and really all facets of Jordan’s life that will happen in next few years will be nothing short of incredible. Abilities will be discovered, challenges overcome, love and possibly heartache. The biggest discoveries what will they be? Its so very different for all of us and yet something we all go through that we understand.
What we would all do to go back there, to that time where jumping in any direction just seemed easier than it would be to now.  Is it ever easy to jump though? What advice would we tell ourselves if we had the ability to? I hope when Jordan looks at these images today or years from now that she sees her true self. A young, incredibly intelligent woman, who knows herself, what she wants, is beyond thoughtful (might get this from her mother), and sees the strikingly beautiful woman that she is.

A LOVE DAY BLOG

Kira and Andrew are close friends of mine here in Vegas. I met Kira a few years ago at a bridal show. We then found ourselves in similar photography circles and at some point stumbled upon the fact we live just blocks from each other. It was very easy to become good friends. Andrew, Kira’s husband and I have also become close this last year. He is one of the most reliable and heartfelt people I know.  These two make a wonderful couple and are a strong team.  I am very touched to be able to capture their connection on camera. I consider these portraits a great culmination of creativity and heart. Happy Valentines Day friends.

Contemporary Portraits

What an honor it was to photograph the Leany Family. Mother and Father to five daughters. I can’t imagine the pride this couple takes in looking at these images. Its a wonderful thing to see how the whole family came together for a portrait for mom and dad. Style wise for current and future clients alike this color pallet is modern sophisticated and beautiful. Modern images tend to have color pallets of 2-4 colors versus 15 years ago when the whole family dressed identically. For groupings of two or more this is a great example of mixing together colors and yet still creating a very uniform look.

THE BEAUTIFUL MERCEDES

Las Vegas Maternity Photographer ; Las Vegas Maternity Photograp,

While I have photographed several maternity sessions in Las Vegas this shoot is a perfect example of how a client can make their photoshoot unique and fashionable.

Some quick tips:

a. Choose a outfits you love.

b. Plan plan plan. Consults give clients and the photographer the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively before the shoot. The better prepared the easier the session goes.

c. Pay attention to details. Hair, nails, make-up ect. When we feel good we look good.

Mercedes and I planned two main ideas for her session . One being something sexy and edgy and two a milk bath with the theme color of red. Those ideas formulated over a couple of weeks and we not only found the perfect location to meet her needs but also had great communication on the style.

There is a little baby girl due to arrive later this month. I’m extremely excited to meet her and see what momma and I come up with together for her first newborn photography session.

NIKO AND CAMILA

I met Camila by chance at the gym working out one day. I can’t tell you the specifics but we became fast friends. We worked out together when our schedules allowed it and she gave me great advice and knowledge of workout programs and nutrition. She is now studying to be a certified trainer and registered dietitian here in Las Vegas. Camila and I have a few things in common and one of them is we love our pets unconditionally.
Pet portraits are never easy don’t let these images fool you. Niko is just a year old here and a puppy with lots of energy. Camila was patient and we took all the time that was needed. Every detail was thought of. This session is a great example of “teamwork”. I think we did a pretty good job don’t you?

EDITING WHEN AND WHY

Pet Pictures Las Vegas

Every photographer has a philosophy on editing. Editing is an art form therefor there is no right or wrong way to edit a photograph. Rest assured though professional photographers in Las Vegas and worldwide have strong opinions on what to edit, when and why. There is a lot of power in editing. With technology and programs being more advanced than ever before the art of photo manipulation has taken a life of its own. My thoughts on the subject are this, I am a photographer, not a graphic artist. I capture energies how I see them and try to perfect in camera as much as possible. When I edit, it is with clear intention and is to enhance an image. Alteration is at a minimum at least that’s the hope. If a client sees an image and can’t tell it’s edited I consider that mastery.

So what do I edit? A lot of people think of editing as a thinning tool, take a few pounds off here and there, it is the running joke about photoshop. The majority of what I do when I edit is color correction and taking away distractions from the subject. The below image, for instance, is a perfect example. It’s a great capture and this client is virtually flawless, however, the image on the right allows the viewer to focus on just the subject. Being in love with this staircase this image and angle where captured deliberately knowing that I could take out the distractions in the post. When it comes to editing it’s not less that is more but choosing what one should edit and being thoughtful about that choice.

For The Love Of Dog

Vegas Pet Photographers

What can I say Stephanie and I are cut out of the same mold omg we love our dogs. Stephanie has such a strong connection with her pup Zoey that I asked her to be featured in the Lucinda Flint Photography about video. To see the video visit the homepage of our website here:  http://lucindaflintphotography.com Stephanie and Zoey’s session was a bit different from most as we had two videographers in the  studio during the shoot. Stephanie a professional dancer/showgirl here in Las Vegas was not phased by a couple of cameras but there were lots of distractions for Zoey while she was being photographed. To my surprise that didn’t seem to be a problem. Zoey loves and admires her mother so much that she is very content to just be by Stephanie’s side no matter what is happening around her. Zoey also known as Zoeybowwow has her own Instagram page and has a great since of humor. Stephanie is a down to earth gal that is authentic and original. Stephanie and Zoey we look forward to seeing you again!

To all my clients a sincerely thank you for the love and ongoing support. Without you, LFP would not exist.

If you are interested in a portrait session and have not yet had the LFP experience call today. I’m happy to walk you through the process and look forward to meeting you. -Lucinda & Bear
